Powerful Thought

“If you want to become the best runner you can be, start now. Don't spend the rest of your life wondering if you can do it.”
by Priscilla Welsh (winner of NYC marathon at age 42)

The Cause

Two girls B & W

How do you turn racial division, class segregation and spiritual poverty into community, possibility, and vision?

It all begins with a new hope.

A Radical Opportunity

Dramatic cultural transformation starts small—with children and a school. But, it doesn’t end there. New Hope Academy is a school on a mission to set people free. Black, white, rich, or poor, we are limited by our prejudices and our fears. And we all have them.

New Hope provides a radical opportunity for relationships to form across racial, economic, and cultural lines within the community—thereby empowering the poor, bringing people together, and cultivating racial reconciliation.

An estimated 30,000 runners and walkers will participate in this year’s Country Music ½ Marathon on April 24, 2010. Many of those will run or walk to bring about this kind of cultural transformation. Will you join us? Register now.

More About New Hope

New Hope Academy opened its doors in 1996 when a Williamson County church became the catalyst for lasting change in the low-income neighborhoods of Middle Tennessee. Here, elementary school children and families of all races, economic brackets, and cultures learn, love, and live together in an environment that extends acceptance, hope, and an exceptional faith-based education to every child. To that end, New Hope Academy reserves 50 percent of its seats for low-income children.

We are a community of hope. We believe that changing our culture begins with understanding and that understanding takes place in genuine relationships. Separately, we remain impoverished and underprivileged—the poor and affluent alike. Together, we become empowered and enlightened lifting one another to a Christ-centered life.

We are a community of vision. We believe in building the bridges of brotherhood in our community and in our nation. We step forward to be counted as those who will dismantle the economic, cultural and racial walls that keep all people from excelling as citizens of this country and as children of the King.

We are a community of faith. We are true believers called to shine the light of Christ into the darkest corners of despair illuminating every heart and mind with a new vision—a new hope. For additional information about New Hope Academy, click here.
