The Experience
How many times have you tried unsuccessfully to get in shape? It’s frustrating, isn’t it? You start with lots of enthusiasm, only to be find yourself thwarted along the way. We’ve designed the Powered by Hope Experience to change all that.
Here are our secret ingredients to success:
The Team
Let’s face it; no one is enough on his or her own. Training for anything that matters, anything this challenging promises to come with good days and bad. If you want to really go the distance (or just want to want to!) you need people who will push you, support you, and encourage you. You need people waiting for you every Saturday morning, counting on you to be there. You need teammates with a shared passion and shared goal.
That’s what you’ll find in the Powered by Hope team.
Weekly expert-led group runs and walks take place at scenic locations all across town. And, new this year, mid-week runs and walks at a centrally located spot to keep you going between the bigger Saturday sessions.
If you’re joining the team from out of town, we’ll provide you with detailed training plans and email access to our team coach to set you up for success.

The Inspiration
When Olympic marathon coaches try to determine which runners will succeed over the long haul, they look for altruism. As it turns out, when you run or walk in order to help someone else, you are actually helping yourself.
As you invest in your community and commit to making a difference in the life of a child, you infuse your training with purpose and meaning that will far outlast your enthusiasm to wear a smaller pant size, or shave down the number of minutes it takes you to run a mile.
