It’s finally here–our big training kick-off, along with warmer temperatures! Here’s the scoop:

Date: Saturday, January 16, 2010

Time: 8 a.m.

Location: Fleet Feet in Brentwood

Distnace: 3 miles

Plan to begin your training at home starting on Monday, January 11. See below for details.

Makes sure to sign in and fill out a waiver when you arrive at group training. After the group run/walk, Carol Hough, Galloway’s Nashville Chapter Leader, will give a brief overview of the Galloway Training Program. This is especially important if you are new to Galloway this year.

We’ll divide up into numerous pace groups of 3-8 people running at the same pace. (If you are new to running, your pace is the average number of minutes it takes you to complete a mile comfortably.) Pace groups give you the opportunity to train in smaller groups and avoid starting out too fast, but still maintain a consistent training pace. Walkers will start out all together and settle into pace groups from there.
