Tips for a Great Race Day
Important Information About Picking Up Your Race Number and Timing Chip:
All team members must pick up their race number and timing chip from the Country Music Marathon Expo IN PERSON. No exceptions are allowed. Ever. So, plan accordingly. The earlier you get to the Expo, the better off you’ll be. If you’re coming in from out of town, do you best to get to the Expo early, as the afternoon is extremely crowded.
Race participants can go to the Expo at the following times:
- Thursday, April 26th 11am – 6pm
- Friday, April 27th 10am – 7pm
You need to bring your signed registration confirmation and a valid photo ID.
Where to Check Your Gear Bag:
We will provide gear check for all our runners this year. Powered by Hope runners should bring their gear bags with them to the start line. PBH volunteers will take your bags to the UPS trucks for transport to the finish line.
Instructions for gear check:
- Use ONLY the bag you are given at the CMM Expo.
- Detach the Gear Check tag from your Race Number. Fill it out completely. Attach it to your bag.
- Look for the PBH banner near the steps of the Parthenon to join up with the rest of the runners.
- You will be able to pick up your gear bag right next to our VIP Team Tent at the race finish.
- Please do not leave valuables in your gear bag.
Where We Will Meet on Race Day:
We will meet at Centennial Park at our Powered by Hope banner near the steps of the Parthenon at 5:45 a.m. Look for all the lime green shirts; they will be easy to spot. Our Powered by Hope picture will take place at 6:15 a.m. near the team tent.
Important Parking, Shuttle, and Spectator Information from the Country Music Marathon:
Most team members choose to park at LP Field (the race finish) and ride the shuttle to the race start. Shuttles run from 4:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. We suggest getting on the shuttle between 5 and 5:15 at the latest. Please be advised that shuttles are for marathon, half marathon and mini marathon participants only.
There’s lots of great information at the CMM site as well with information on parking, maps of the course, places for spectators to watch, etc. Here’s a link to their “Pre-Race Survival Guide”.
